Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by planes. There’s just something magical about being up in the sky, looking down at the world below. So, when I finally decided to turn my dream of flying into a reality, I knew I needed a top-notch flight school. That’s when I discovered LA Flight Academy, a place that felt just right for me. (its name is activepilot) I’ll admit, I was a bit nervous at first. I mean, learning to fly a plane is a big deal! But the moment I walked into the facility in Van Nuys, I felt right at home. The staff was welcoming, clearly passionate about aviation, and the fleet of aircraft was impressive.

My first few lessons focused on ground school, where I learned about aerodynamics, navigation, and all the essentials of flying. It was a lot to take in, but my instructor, Dave, made everything easy to understand with his patient teaching style. Once I got comfortable with the theory, it was time to take to the skies. My first solo flight was a mix of excitement and nerves. As I taxied down the runway, my heart was pounding. But the moment I lifted off, all my worries melted away. It was an incredible feeling of freedom.

One of the things I really appreciated was the flexibility of their scheduling. They worked with me to find times that fit into my busy life, which made it easier to balance training. Plus, being located right near the Van Nuys Airport was super convenient. The entire team was supportive, always there to answer questions and offer encouragement. I felt like I was part of a community of aviation enthusiasts. As I progressed, I flew a variety of aircraft, from small Cessna 172s to more advanced planes, even doing some cross-country flights—an amazing experience.

Finally, the day of my checkride arrived. I was a bit nervous, but LA Flight Academy thanks to my thorough training, I felt well-prepared. After a successful flight test, I was thrilled to receive my private pilot license.
